The aim of the Wine and Cheese Gathering Group is fun and fellowship. It is not for any particular wine person but for all. More a tasting to expand our range with everyone’s views accepted and valued.
We try 3 wines and cheeses over about an hour and a half in a safe environment.
The Gathering takes place on the 2nd Wednesday of each Month from 3:00pm to 4:30pm.

The group met at Dianne and Phil Huband’s house for the monthly tasting. With several regular attendees away on holiday, the group was smaller than usual, but this did not deter from the enjoyment of the afternoon. As usual, three wines were on offer for tasting with the theme being discounted wines offering exceptional value.
The wines sampled were:
Wolf & Shepherd Riesling from the Clare valley.
Irvine Estate Chardonnay from the Eden Valley.
Taylor’s St Andrews 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon also from the Clare Valley.
All the wines were impressive, with the Taylor’s winning the day.
Instead of the usual quiz about the wines sampled, there was a musical quiz with tunes about wine. Everybody joined in with vocal responses to the questions of who the singers, performers and writers were, which proved to be a most enjoyable session.
The Wine and Cheese group meet on the Wednesday after the Probus Meeting from 3pm to 4.30pm at a member’s house. The cost is $7 and it is a very enjoyable way of getting to know members.
