50th Anniversary at Government House

Thursday 14th May 2026

On Thursday 14th May, we were invited to a reception at Government House to celebrate 50 years of Probus in Australia. The Governor, His Excellency Chris Dawson AC APM, spoke of the importance of being active and connected in our lives after work and role that Probus Clubs play in ensuring that this happens in our own communities.

Just under 200 Probus members came together in the Ballroom at Government House to listen to the Governor and the speech by our very own Brian Hoult who, as the PSPL Western Australian Representative, was responsible for organising and hosting the day.  It was a fitting celebration of what we at Probus contribute to both our members and community and have proudly done so for 50 years.

When the formalities were complete, guests were presented with a morning tea, with ample time to mingle and communicate with Probians from other WA clubs.

Civic Reception for Mandurah Probus Clubs

Friday 24th July 2026

Nine members of our Mandurah Peel Probus Club were invited to join with the other five Mandurah Probus Clubs at a Civic Reception, hosted by Mandurah Council, on Friday 24th July to acknowledge and celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Probus in Australia. The Probians were greeted by Mandurah Mayor, Amber Kearns, together with the Deputy Mayor, Jess Smith, and the CEO of the City of Mandurah, Casey Mihovlovich.

The formalities began following a very delicious afternoon tea. Brian Hoult, as the PSPL representative for WA, addressed the meeting, concluding with a presentation of framed certificates to each club, accompanied by a brief speech from the recipients. Carole Morritt, as our club's inaugural President, talked about her background in Mandurah Peel Probus club and thanked the Council for organising the celebratory event.  The event provided a good opportunity for all participants to mingle and meet members from other Mandurah clubs before winding up for the afternoon.
