                        **GUEST SPEAKERS**

                                  Organised by Kerry Grover

At our General monthly meetings we are privileged to have a guest speaker who is happy to come along and give a talk on their particular vocation or special interest. Whether it be travel, environmental issues, charities, political, professions, sports, writers, adventurers etc, we can be sure that whatever their choice of subject is, we will always be treated to a very informative and interesting presentation.

September 2026

The Guest speaker was Christine Harris. shown above receiving thanks from Fred Moncaster. Christine gave an interesting and insightful talk on Ghost towns and communities in Western Australia. It was a look-back into the history of Western Australia. A very stimulating talk which was well received by members.

Christine Harris is President of Family History WA, an organisation that is working to document as much of the history of these towns as it can.

As many Probus members are great travellers, some had visited a number of these towns, and Christine was able to expand on much of the information they had. Having visited these places, the descent into a ghost community, and the reason behind it added an extra layer to member’s knowledge.
