March 2026
Cowaramup/Margaret River Getaway
March 29th – April 1st
Well, our “Baby Boomer Probians certainly kicked up their heels at the opening night of our three-night getaway at Cowaramup. The night was in full swing, with members pulling out all stops to relive the 60/70’s era. We had some very interesting costumes, some so good we didn’t recognise who was behind the costume.

Music of the times played all night with lots of singing along and dancing. Although, not as nimble as we were back then, we certainly gave it a good go. The twist….wow, several of us were finding it difficult to get down to twist around like we did back then, the Barn Dance……very comical, especially the flirtation Barn Dance. At one time we had two men dancing together. Pride of Erin…well we won’t even go there, that was such fun, I don’t think we had one couple dancing in time, and there was definitely no unison in the circle. (It might have had something to do with everyone smoking the FAD’s Carol brought along to the party).
The night was full of great food, reflecting the menus of the era, great music, great dancing, and above all else, great company. Well done everyone for a fantastic night full of fun, love and happiness.
Day two saw 25 members board a boat in Augusta for a cruise along the river. We had an excellent guide in Graeme, who gave an interesting commentary on the history of Molloy Island and surrounding areas. There was interesting bird wildlife along the river, expertly spotted and pointed out by our guide. We even had the thrill of dolphins joining in on the fun, swimming alongside the boat.

After the cruise, we gathered at the Augusta Hotel for lunch under the booking name of Pam Pagamini. It is baffling to think how they came up with that name!
It was happy hour and games as per usual back at the camp that evening. Much fun and laughter had by all.

Day three was wine tour day. Twenty-one members boarded a bus for a drive around the region. First stop was at Jarvis Estate. Tastings of several wines went down well, ending with a taste of WTF…. Wine That is Fortified, in layman terms, old fashioned Port.

Lunch was at CBCo Brewery, followed by visits to Woody Nook Winery, Providore and the Chocolate Factory. A quick stop over in the town of Cowaramup, (Cow Town as referred to by our host Jason) gave members a little time to explore the shops before heading back to camp.
Our last night saw several members join in on card games and enjoying each other’s company. A big thank you to John Clark for being our fantastic MC and game caller. Great job, John.
A big thank you to everyone who came along and joined in the fun, you are awesome. Great memories made!
