                                    Art Group

The "inaugural" meeting of new Art Group gathered at the home of Alicia and Peter Martin.

First meeting: Fran with her beautiful vibrant watercolours, Di completing a watercolour of storybook characters for her small grand daughter, Rob a beautiful watercolour of a flower in varying shades of pink, but forgot the green for the stem! Alicia spent almost three hours on painting two banksia leaves - talk about attention to detail!  Kerry decided to try and finish a Xmas gift of a "paint by numbers" which was not very inspiring, but as she usually uses oils, she didn’t want to stink everyone out!

Second meeting: Alicia has now added a "red tailed black cockatoo" to her large canvas, Rob painted a blue wren, Di brought along an old painting which she decided to "re-hash" with much relish! Kerry is continuing (with the aid of a magnifying glass) her "paint by numbers" piece - very tedious work.

Third meeting: Alicia still working away on her large painting, primarily on a cockatoo which now displays a beautiful red feathered plumage! Valmal, with Alicia's expert guidance, tried her hand at fabric/textile painting, adding some leaves to an existing dress of hers. Kerry is still plodding on with the "numbers" painting, but making great progress and should finish next get together!

Fourth meeting: Alicia still working on her "bird", Valmai drawing a chicken on the pocket of a garment, now only to add colour. Rob with another lovely watercolour. Kerry fed up with the "numbers" painting, ready to move on to her oil painting!
