The seniors morning at the movies is a great idea. Have a morning tea before seeing a movie at Events Cinema's in Whitfords.
The outings to the pub are always a hit and the Ashby was no exception.
With the school holidays we get grandchildren tagging along to the events. Giacomo was a quick learner and enjoyed playing canasta with the "oldies"
Geoffrey Thomas, our guest speaker in March, was terrific. Quite a number of guests bought his book and Geoffrey donated $50 to the club. Thank you Geoffrey.
We had a great turnout at the Conti's wine tasting. After the tasting we moved into the sheltered alfresco area where we had share plates of food accompanied by a glass or 2 of wine. No one wanted to go home and we were eventually kicked out at closing time.
Our first Mah-jong lesson was a great success and we had a larger than expected turnout.
We had a wonderful meal and get-together at The Kingsway. The food on the seniors menu was well priced and the portions were generous. The quality of the food served stood up well to our expectations. Well done to the organising team.
