Card Sharks

Sequence is proving to the a very popular game with our members.   Canasta and 500 are also well supported.   A big thank you to our morning tea providers each month for the delicious treats to enjoy with our cuppa and to help celebrate our monthly birthdays.

Huff & Puffers

Under a cloudy sky our 11 walkers enjoyed their walk from Coledale to Thirroul.  A fortifying coffee stop was made at The Salty Dog Cafe at Coledale where coffee and delicious crepes and cakes were enjoyed receiving high praise from our walkers.  A brisk 4klm walk along Lawrence Hargreave Drive worked up an appetite for a light lunch at Thirroul before catching our train back home.   A great day was had by all.

Breakfast Walkers

What a great way to start the day with a walk, at your own pace, along the beautiful foreshore of Cronulla with a friendly group of people.  Many a time we have been entertained by pods of dolphins frolicing in the waves.   And there is no better way to end our walks than with a tea/coffee, a tasty treat and a chat at the local cafe.

Galloping Gourmet

A large group were keen for a repeat visit to The Little Snail at Darling Harbour and once again we  enjoyed a choice of delicious French cuisine.  For something different our members joined in the spirit of St Patrick's Day at The Fiddler when they all dressed in green.  Well done.   A delicious Irish lunch was served and we were entertained by a fabulous group of Irish Entertainers.

Theatre Group

Many a great play as been enjoyed on a Sunday afternoon by our members .  There is often much laughster and intrigue throughout the performances. We are regular visitors to the Cronulla Arts Theatre and the Guild Theatre at Rockdale.  Our members also enjoy shows at The Pavillion at Sutherland, and weekly matinees at the Capital and Lyric Theatres in the City.

Rivercat Cruise & Luncheon

The weather put on its best Spring weather for our 39 Probus members on the trip up to Parramatta on the Rivercat, with the water sparkling under the sun and a variety of ships and pleasure craft out and about.  A delicious lunch was enjoyed by all at the Abbotsford Sydney Rowing Club, right on the waterfront, before our return back down our beautiful Harbour to Circular Quay and the train home.

Coach Tours
Forty three excited members boarded our luxury coach at Gymea  for a wonderful 9 night holiday.  Members enjoyed each other’s company at nightly Happy Hour while they watching the beautiful sunsets and getting to know each other better.  We enjoyed a variety of activities, visiting the Mary Cairncross Park Rainforest, Maleny, The Buderim Ginger Factory and Macadamia Factory, Tea Tree Plantation, Eumundi Markets, Noosa a cruise down the river and around the canals, The Gold Coast and a cruise along the Nerang River.  The highlights were the Australia Zoo and the Outback Spectacular.   With all meals included we ate very well and were a little sad to come back home again, after such a fun and interesting trip.    Again another wonderful trip down the coastal road via Batemans Bay, Eden and Lakes Entrance, with a visit to the Little Penguin colony at Phillip Island and time in  Melbourne finishing with a visit to the iconic Melbourne Markets before heading back to Sydney.

Crafty Ladies

Between crochet scarfs and rugs, knitting squares, dolls for theospital,  cardigans and remembrance poppies, patchwork and quilting we still have time to chat, have a laugh and enjoy morning tea.

Day Outings

A picture perfect Spring day enhanced our walk around the Japaneese Gardens at Auburn, Cherry Blossom time is a magic time to visit and the group enjoy lunch at one of the nearby Sports Clubs afterwards. Our group recently visited the Children's Medical Research Institute where we met leading scientists and witnessed some ground breaking research firsthand.   A visit to new Fish Market was a hit also with our group getting to see behind the scenes of its operation and afterwards enjoy a delicious lunch from a variety of the Fish Markets stalls.  Whale watching did not disappoint with suny skies and playful whales.  Every month we have a fantastic variety of outings to choose from.

Overseas Tours

Our group have been very fortunate to have experienced some great tours overseas.   Our latest overseas trip was a week in Singapore, everything was organised and all we needed to do was sit back relax and enjoy the fabulous range of activies and experiences on offer,  our trip was leisurely and we enjoyed the services of a professional,  friendly and experienced local guide.  New Zealand is our next destination.

Book Club

Never a dull moment as our ladies give their views, over coffee and morning tea,  on the interesting and varied books we read each month.  Interesting how some of the books are ones we say we would have never chosen to read, but have ended up thoroughly enjoying.   A great way to experience new styles of writing and topics.

Van Wrinklies
Our recent trip to Anna Bay was fabuluous and proved a real gem.  Relaxing and with a variety of things to see and do, and supurb weather.  Happy hour at the end of the day is always looked forward to as we share our memories of the day.  Our co-ordinator arranged some great activities for us to do as a group.  Thank you.
