PRESIDENT’S COLLEEN MCRAE'S MESSAGE
in the Canberra Lakes Ladies Probus Club's July 2026 Newsletter
Dear Members,
I’m looking forward to our meeting this month; no guest speaker, just our own members invited to
talk about a person or event that has had an influence on their life. This is known as our “Getting
to Know You” meeting.
On Monday 18th June, St John’s Care was very grateful to receive all
your donated groceries. I think they were taken by surprise when we,
(Denis and I), opened the back of our car and they saw the many bags to
go inside. The response was, “Oh my goodness you have a boot load”
and two volunteers were called upon to help. Well done ladies, so proud
of you.
Subject to ongoing physio, and my appointments, I hope to be with you
on Monday 20th. Take care of yourselves. Colleen
GROUPS
MAHJONG GROUP meets every second Thursday 11.30am – 4pm at a Member's home.
MOVIE GROUP meets the second Tuesday of the month around 10.00am in the Dendy Cinema, Canberra Centre
SOCIAL BOOK CHAT meets at 10am on the fourth Monday of the month in a Member's home.
BOOK SWAP: Members bring a book they enjoyed to our Probus meetings on the third Monday of each month and swap with others.
LUNCH AFTER THE GENERAL MEETING: 12noon in Eastlake Football Club where the price of meals is very reasonable and provides an opportunity for Members to socialise even more with each other.
