2026 Bus Trip to Dubbo and Mudgee

Explore gorgeous autumn gardens, see rare wildlife at the Taronga Western Plains Zoo
and discover picturesque towns.

 Tuesday 21 - Thursday 23 April 2026

We joined with members of Cecil Hills Probus and Winston Hills/Northmead to explore the beautiful Mayfield Gardens (in Autumn)! Words and pictures do not do that place justice! We travelled on to Dubbo for the night, and where in the morning, under beautiful blue, clear skies we visited Dubbo Zoo. Do you know that rhinoceroses come back to the same place to poo EVERY time? Maybe I shouldn't be surprised..... we do, don't we?

We travelled on to Gooree Park where we tasted one of their Wagyu beef bugers (not to be confused with an F1 burger). We sampled and bought much wine from their winery, and learnt so much about the horse breeding industry! As we drove along, it was noticably very dry! As the locals commented it was going to be a long winter without a bit of rain to get the grass/feed growing!

After spending the night at Mudgee, we stopped in at a lovingly restored railway station, which now houses an art and craft business. Ask Sylvia to show you her absolutel fabulous new scarf! After visiting the Mudgee Honey Haven, we stopped in at Rylestone RSL for lunch before heading home.
