St Heliers Ladies Probus Club
June Newsletter:
Tuesday’s Club meeting is our 44th Birthday celebration.
Tuesday 9th June at 2pm at The St Heliers Bay Community Centre, 100 St Heliers Bay Rd.
Our celebrations will include the cutting of our Birthday cake by our two longest serving members ,Collen Buchanan and Rae Field, who have each served over 25 years. If you joined in or before 2015 please make a special effort to celebrate with us.
Our speaker today is Adrienne Joyce. She has told us of her hair raising experience of barging her house. Adrienne has been involved with helping stranded orca whales and will talk to us today about these conservation experiences.
Tuesday 16th June: Movie Day. As usual, we are unsure of which movies will be available. so I will send my usual email.
Tuesday 23rd June: Coffee, 10:30 at Honey Cafe, Roberta Ave.
Notes from May.
Thank you to those who brought Anzac memorabilia to our May meeting. The displays were appreciated.
Our Lunch at Stonefields pub was very popular. Pub lunches are fun so if you can think of another pub within our travel range, please let Robyn know.
A Few Reminders.
Name badges. Please wear these to all of our activities. Our group is getting larger so we may need more reminders. Before the movie this month Pat Dye was waiting outside the café when a lady with a Probus badge came by. Not recognising her as one of our members she started a conversation. This lady was a member of another branch, reminding us Probus is not only city wide but country and world wide.
Cut off dates for registration for activities. Coffee and movies are our only activities that don’t require RSVP.
It is essential to sign the trip book and pay (if necessary ) by the notified cut off date. Caterers and event
organisers need definite numbers. Please let Robyn know if you have to cancel your attendance.
