April 2026
Thursday 16th April: Bus Trip to Qld Air Museum and Lunch at Caloundra. Coach departs Gaythorne Bowls Club at 8.00 a.m. ( check-in and boarding starts 20 minutes prior). Trip includes guided tour of the museum, morning tea, barbeque lunch at Caloundra Bowls Club. Note any special dietry requirements when booking. Cost is $106.00 p/p up to 30 passengers, $103.00 p/p 31 to 40 passengers. Payment is due by Thursday, 5th March. Lead: Jeanette Mills
May 2026
Thursday 21st May: Day Train Trip to Gold Coast - Visit Pacific Fair or Star Casino. Use your GoCard to travel from Brisbane to Gold Coast by train, then light rail from Helensvale to Broadbeach South Station. A short walk across the road is Pacific Fair Shopping Centre (400+ stores) or visit the Star Casino. Timetable allows 3.5 to 4 hours at the venues. Indicative travel times: Dep Roma Street Station at 7.02 a.m., arr at Broadbeach South Station at 10.06 a.m. Return: dep Broadbeach at 2.06 p.m. or 2.26 p.m. to catch train from Helensvale at 3.23.p.m. Arrive back at Roma Street Station at 4.27 p.m. Own cost for the day. Sunday 24th May: Growl Theatre, 2.00 p.m. "Moon over Buffalo". A 1950's farce about George and Charlotte Hay performing in Buffalo, New York. Their marriage and careers are failing until they learn that Frank Capra is coming to their matinee, offering a potential Hollywood comeback. Chaos ensues through backstage antics, drunken mistakes and mistaken identities. Cost is $17.00. Book by 7th May and pay by Friday 8th May. When booking, advise if attending lunch before the show. June 2026
Monday 1st June: 9.30 a.m. Annual Bridgeman Downs Trivia Competition at Geebung RSL, 323 Newman Road, Geebung. Cost is $150.00 per table of 6 which includes morning tea. 1st Prize: $300.00, 2nd Prize: $240.00, 3rd Prize: $180.00. 2 tables fully booked.
Tuesday 23rd June: Bus trip to see the Esk Bush Bashers Show. Travel to Esk to experience good old country style entertainment of music, jokes and bush poems around the camp fire. Lunch is served during the show. Fare includes lunch and show. Arrival time in Esk is 10.15 a,m. Tiered cost is based on numbers: 21 - 30 $105.00; 31-40 $102.00; 41-49 $ 98.00. Note: An additional $5.00 cost is applicable for a gluten free lunch. Depart Gaythorne Bowls Club at 8.30 a.m., return approx 4.00 p.m. Lead: TBA.
