        Activities & Guest Speakers for 2026

Planned activities to help achieve the goals of fun, friendship in retirement are an important part of the Probus Club of Newmarket. An Activities Officer co-ordinates club members’ activities usually held on the fourth Wednesday of the month.  While being flexible, a draft program is prepared for each year.

February 2026

  • General Meeting February 11th -Don’t forget the Book exchange desk!! Bring a book to exchange with friends 

  • Guest speaker February 11th : Richard Kinnon – “Outback travels”

  • Club Trivia February 25th Club Trivia and chicken and salad lunch at the Club Time: Start trivia at1100 Arrive 1045

September

  • Guest Speaker  Wednesday 10th - "Broken to Brilliant", a talk on domestic violence by Andrea Miller who is the Director of Broken to Brilliant

  • Wednesday 24th : Bus Trip to Toowoomba for the Carnival of Flowers - Morning tea at Marburg &  lunch Blue Mountains Hotel Harlaxton, with some beautiful gardens in between.

October

  • Guest Speaker Wednesday 8th - "The History of the Electric Car" - John Miller.

  •  Wednesday 22nd - Picnic in Park at John Goss Reserve, West Chermside BYO

  • Mystery Activity - TBA

November

  • Guest Speaker Wednesday 12th - A Talk on Morocco - Barbara Eastoe

  • Wednesday 26th - Christmas Lunch at Arana Leagues Club (details to follow)

 

 

There are also special interest groups who organise their own activities.  Currently there is a walking group, a book club and a monthly mystery outing. More details of these groups are outlined in the club Newsletter.
