It was a great day today when we celebrated the first six ladies to be awarded a 20 year badge! At our General Meeting the six ladies were given gifts from Cr Tracy Davis and Tim Mander. We celebrated with a huge cake and a special extended morning tea.  Merv Richens (President of Probus Association of Qld) along with his wife Margaret (Treasurer) and Mary Helbig (Secretary) as well as our Regional Liaison Office, Barbara Tobin were in attendance and brought a gift for each lady of a beautiful scarf specially designed for the 50th year of Probus in Australia. The ladies had the badges presented by their husbands - the men who had campaigned to have women admitted as members.

We had four potential members join us as well, and guests from neighbouring Probus clubs. The buzz of friendly chatter was a welcome sound during the celebrations.
