ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2026- 2027
Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Probus Club of Bobbin Head Inc will be held at Turramurra Bowling Club, 181 Bobbin Head Road, Turramurra 2074,
on Monday 9th March 2026, following the general meeting at 10.00am, for the following purposes:
1. To approve the Minutes of the last Annual General Meeting held on 10th March 2025;
2. To approve the accounts for the year ended 31st December 2025;
3. To elect the Officers and Management Committee members for the year to 31st March 2027;
4. To appoint an auditor;
5. To confirm the membership fees for the year to 31st March 2027.

HEARING AND BRAIN HEALTH
In this presentation Andrew explores the physical and mental effects of untreated hearing loss, how to overcome barriers to treatment, and why proactive hearing care is vital to life long brain health.
According to the Lancet medical journal, hearing loss is the #1 modifiable risk factor in preventing dementia. Modifiable meaning its something you can do something about.
The talk will cover:
- understanding the critical importance of preserving the neural pathways between the ears and the brain, for the prevention of dementia
- what you can do to keep your brain engaged and active and how soon you need to start
- why the term “use it or lose it” applies to the connection between hearing and the brain
- why some people can never get their hearing back once it deteriorates and how you can prevent it it happening
ANDREW CAMPBELL - BIO
Andrew Campbell is a Masters trained Audiologist, a leader in hearing health care - certified in audiological sciences. He is a speaker, teacher, manager, philanthropist, innovator and most recently the author of amazons #1 new release in health and sciences.
He is a member of the Australian College of Audiology and has been recognised multiple times as a leader in industry and integrity for his work in Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and the USA

Probus Social Walk -June
PROBUS SOCIAL WALK. POWELLS CREEK WALK HOMEBUSH TO RHODES.
MONDAY 15th JUNE.
Meet at Hornsby Station platform 3 for fast train to Strathfield at 8.49. change for Homebush train.
From Homebush station we walk to Ismay Park for morning tea. We continue along Powells Creek through the Mason Park wetlands and onto the Bicentennial Park walkway to Rhodes for lunch and coffee. Train home from Rhodes. A mainly level walk.
Bring snacks, lunch and drinks.

Live at Lunch Concert
Birdsong, Sky and Flutes
The next and final Live at Lunch concert for 2026 takes place on September 02, when Jane Rutter will appear with the Pacific Opera Soloists and pianist John Martin (as well as a special surprise guest) in a vibrant celebration of avian inspired music. The program includes Papageno’s aria from The Magic Flute, Delibes’ The Nightingale, Rossini’s The Thieving Magpie and Saint -Saens’ The Swan - as well as musical theatre favourites such as “Feed the Birds” and “It Might as Well Be Spring.”

When: Wednesday September 02, 2026 at 12 noon
Price per ticket: $47.50

The final Players production for this year is:
“A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas.”
Michael Wilson’s stage adaptation of this timeless tale by Charles Dickens play has run to full houses annually for over 25 years in the USA. It focuses on the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge and his amazing transformation, which is powered by the warmth of the Cratchit family as well as the joy and spirit of people on the streets on Christmas Day.

Winner “Reflections”Competition
The next meeting will be held on Thursday 18 June, one week later than normal due to the General Meeting being held on 11 June.
Thursday 18 June we will be travelling to the city to undertake a field workshop on the topic of “Pinpoint Photography”, concentrating particularly around the precinct of the QVB, Town Hall and St Andrews Cathedral.
Please meet at Turramurra Station at 9.15am, in time to catch the 9.20am train to Town Hall.
The workshop should conclude around midday.
