A WONDERFUL DAY OUT CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS IN JULY
On a chilly, but clear morning a group of ladies, dressed in their Christmas finery boarded two buses to travel to Canowindra. The trip was absolutely beautiful as the paddocks of Canola are starting to flower and the gum trees which bordered the road were just so magnificent.
Even after an unscheduled sightseeing trip around the back streets or Mandurama we arrived a little early for our luncheon time and most migrated to a coffee shop or did a little shopping .
Luncheon was held at the magnificent Montrose House which was Christmas themed. I doubt there was room for one more decoration!
The menu was lovely roast meats and vegetables followed by Christmas Pudding or Pavlova. I don’t think there were any plates which were not totally empty.
A hat competition bought out some amazing and beautiful creations which were incredibly innovative. Some sparkled, blinked, winked and were made of Christmas cards and baubles. Barbara Webb took out first prize with her beautiful confection of pink flowers on a wide brimmed model.
What a treat to be able to enjoy each other’s company on such a fun filled day. Thank you Pauline for your organisation.
Looking forward to another Bathurst Ladies Probus Club outings of Friendship, Fun and Fellowship.
